Davis Love III has been talking about how he reluctantly agreed to wear some rather wild and garish golf clothing sent by his sponsor for the recent US Open.
The US Ryder Cup captain told the New York Times that clothing house Ralph Lauren sent him some linen pants in a sickly pink hue, telling him to mix them with a blue-and-white striped shirt for the start of the tournament.
So cleverly, Love did what any sensible many would do – asked his wife for advice.
"They tell me, 'Look, we sell more pink pants whenever you wear the pink pants,' and I get that," Love told the newspaper.
"But I always ask them: 'Well, who's going to sell the khaki? I want to sell the khaki.' "
But while Love may have been strutting his stuff at the US Open, all eyes were on Rory McIlroy, who won the tournament in fine style, carding rounds of 65, 66, 68 and 69 for a 16-under-par total.
