Francesco Molinari to take part in WGC-Accenture Match Play

Francesco Molinari has confirmed that he will take part in next week's WGC-Accenture Match Play event following the birth of his first child.

The Italian's wife Valentine gave birth two weeks ago and there had been suggestions that Molinari may give the Arizona tournament a miss, but he revealed he will be donning his golf clothing.

All of the world's top 64 players are set to take part in the event, which was last won by IJP design golf clothing ambassador Ian Poulter.

The draw pitches the highest ranked player against the lowest, and the second ranked player against the second-lowest ranked, and so on.

Lee Westwood will therefore take on Japan's Toru Taniguchi, while defending champion Poulter will face Stewart Cink.

Other top ties include Tiger Woods versus Thomas Bjorn, Ernie Els against Jeff Overton, and Phil Mickelson against Brendan Jones.

The draw will change if any players drop out, with Henrik Stenson lined up as first reserve.
