Elliot Saltman's golf clothing will put to the back of his wardrobe in the coming weeks, after he was handed a three-month ban for breaching regulations.
The "serious breach" took place at the Challenge Tour event in Moscow in 2010, where he was accused of marking his ball incorrectly during the first round.
A statement from the European Tour read: "At a disciplinary hearing of The European Tour Tournament Committee in Abu Dhabi on January 18, 2011, the committee unanimously found that Elliot Saltman had committed a serious breach of the 2010 Challenge Tour Members Regulation F 1 (b) 6 (Rules of Golf) during the first round of the M2M Russian Challenge Cup on September 16 2010 at Tseleevo Golf & Polo Club, Moscow, Russia."
Saltman's ban is effective from today (January 19th) and prohibits him from taking part in any European Tour and Challenge Tour tournaments.
Speaking last month, Saltman told the Press Association that he had only accepted being disqualified from Moscow as he did not want to be labelled a cheat and now wishes he has stuck up for himself.
Saltman recently finished 23rd in the Africa Open in East London, SA.
