Puma Golf are always pushing the limits of performance, style, and comfort and they’ve done it again this month, with their latest offering, the Puma Alphacat golf shoes. A technical, spikeless product, released to rival the hugely successful FootJoy Pro SL shoe.
Puma continue to be one of the biggest names in the market, being worn on tour by the likes of Rickie Fowler, Bryson DeChambeau and Gary Woodland, and this product is designed to be the ‘Alpha’ of all spikeless shoes. Puma Golf have combined hi-tech materials and exceptional performance, with Puma’s trademark, fashion-forward aesthetic, to bring us what they say is the new standard in spikeless golf shoes.
Puma Golf are describing the ProAdapt Alphacat as the “King of Comfort” due to a number of different technologies designed to make walking the fairways as comfortable as possible. These shoes boast several innovative materials including Puma’s proprietary Adapt Foam, which is made from a combination of EVA cushioning and an impact resistant polymer. The materials chosen for these shoes create a platform that provides impact resistance, energy return, and ground feel.
The ProAdapt Multi Material Outsole features a high-durometer, abrasion resistant TPU perimeter, that provides great stability and traction on soft surfaces. The central Crystal Rubber unit provides top notch ground gripping traction, while offering a soft underfoot feel on hard surfaces, instilling confidence for golfers hitting out of less-than-ideal conditions.
This golf shoe’s upper is an EXO Shell made from engineered mesh with a TPU Film, that provides both structure and support as well as excellent waterproof performance. A 1-year limited waterproof warranty is offered with the Puma Alphacat golf shoes.
Footwear Product Line Manager, Andrew Lawson, says that “the new ProAdapt Alphacat brings the exact energy and innovation that we are about here at Puma.” He also explains that more golfers now than ever are wearing spikeless shoes, so when they approached the build of this shoe, their engineers and designers aimed to use both performance innovations as well as style trends, to create the most advanced spikeless golf shoe that Puma has made to date.
The Puma ProAdapt Alphacat shoes are available now for £119 in three colour ways, men’s UK sizes 7-12. They will not be available from North American retailers until 2022.
