World number one Lee Westwood could be toppled this weekend as he prepares to do battle with Martin Kaymer at the Qatar Masters.
Westwood claimed top spot in October, at the expense of Tiger Woods, but his supremacy is under threat after Kaymer recorded a stunning victory in the Abu Dhabi Championship a fortnight ago.
The pair will don their golf clothing in the Qatar heat with the German knowing he can rise to the top of the pile if he can win the tournament and Westwood fails to come second.
While Westwood will tee off early on Thursday (February 3rd) alongside defending champion Robert Karlsson and American Steve Stricker, Kaymer will join Paul Casey and Miguel Angel Jimenez for an afternoon start.
The form is with 26-year-old Kaymer, who finished a huge 26 shots ahead of Westwood in Abu Dhabi, with the Englishman failing to break par in the last three rounds of his season opener.
