Tiger Woods may not be packing his golf clothing for Royal St George's next month after pulling out of the AT&T National event.
The 35-year-old had been planning to use the event as a way of getting back into form for the major following a significant layoff due to injury.
However, the former world number one, who has started to slide down the world rankings in recent weeks, said he had been forced to pull out of the event "on doctor's orders".
Woods took to Twitter to tell his followers: "Feeling stronger every day but not 100 per cent."
The latest withdrawal adds to a disastrous time for Woods following personal problems off the course and a series of injuries and poor form on it.
