Tiger Woods dismisses Ian Poulter's jibes

Tiger Woods has dismissed claims from Ian Poulter that he will not finish on the leaderboard at the Masters.

Poulter, who will no doubt dazzle viewers with his unique IJP design clothes this week, said: "I don't think he'll finish in the top five. The shots he was hitting at Doral, they were very inconsistent."

Woods laughed off the remarks by the Brit, joking with reporters, "Poulter is always right, isn't he?".

Poulter took to Twitter to defend himself, claiming the media had blown his comments out of proportion and promising not to comment next time he is asked about Woods.

The former world number one has not won an event since November 2009 and is going through his third major swing reconstruction since he won the Masters by a record 12 strokes at the age of 21.

Woods' fans will be hoping they see him on a trademark final day push wearing the red Nike golf shirt his tournament wins have become synonymous with.
