Spencer Levin was top of the leader board after round one of the Honda Classic on Thursday (March 3rd).
The American made the most of the difficult conditions to shoot an accomplished 67 at Palm Beach Gardens in Florida.
A host of big names struggled to content with the blustery weather in their golf clothing, leaving Levin's three-under the best score of the day.
Behind him, there were a host of players who managed to scramble home with a credible 68, including Stuart Appleby, Greg Chalmers and YE Yang.
Fellow Americans Jeff Overton and Matt Kuchar were one further back, where they were joined by world number two Lee Westwood, who needs a top-three finish to reclaim the number one spot in the rankings.
Other big names endured a tough day in the high winds, including WGC-Accenture Match Play champion Luke Donald, who shot a 73.
