Louis Oosthuizen sealed the African Open title after a three-man play-off at the East London tournament.
The Open champion lifted the trophy in his golf clothing following a tense play-off against Englishman Chris Wood and Spain's Manuel Quiros.
All three finished on 16-under par, with Quiros sinking three consecutive birdies to book his place in the shootout.
But South African Oosthuizen holed a superb 15-foot putt on the first extra hole for the birdie that clinched his third European Tour success.
Wood, 23, came close to securing his maiden professional victory, having risen to prominence in 2008 after finishing as top amateur at the Open held at Royal Birkdale.
The eventual winner admitted it had been a hard slog.
"The whole day was a bit of a struggle," Oosthuizen said. "I didn't get anything in the hole and made that putt on 15 [for an eagle] which helped."
