McDowell draws level with Mickelson in rankings

Graeme McDowell has moved level with Phil Mickelson in fourth place in the latest world rankings.

The duo are both heading to the Abu Dhabi Championship this week and they will do so on level pegging.

Lee Westwood remains top of the pile, in a top ten which contains more Europeans than Americans.

Further down the list, IJP Design golf clothing ambassador Ian Poulter is tied with South African Ernie Els in tenth position.

Ryder Cup heroes Martin Kaymer and Luke Donald also feature in the top ten, while Paul Casey, who missed out on the victory over the USA, is in eighth.

One of the biggest movers in the latest rankings is South African Charl Schwartzel, who moved up nine places courtesy of his victory at the Johannesburg Open in his home country.

Northern Irishman McDowell, 31, won the European Tour Golfer of the Year in 2010.
