Lacoste Golf is an exciting new addition to the F18 brand portfolio. An iconic, heritage sportswear brand that was founded in 1933 by André Gillier, the owner and president of the largest French knitwear company at the time, and René Lacoste, a professional tennis player.
The History
Lacoste and Gillier first introduced a revolutionary polo shirt to the tennis courts. On a mission to show the world there was a more comfortable alternative to the long sleeved shirts worn during competitions in the early 1930s, they started to produce this superior shirt for the consumer market soon after, from which point it was stamped with the iconic green crocodile logo.
René Lacoste was nicknamed ’The Alligator’ by an American journalist due to a bet with his coach that he would win the Davis Cup, the wager being an alligator skin suitcase. In French this translated to 'The Crocodile’ and so the tennis star sought help to design his as his logo.
Commenting on his nickname, Lacoste said ‘it highlighted my tenacity on the tennis courts, never giving up on my prey’.

The Lacoste family has had a long affiliation with golf as René was an enthusiastic golfer and also married a 13-time French champion.
In more recent times, the Lacoste golf collection has been showcased on both the European and PGA Tour by brand ambassadors Daniel Berger, Gregory Havret, Raphael Jacquelin and Benjamin Herbert. These players are always amongst the most stylish on the Tour, and their Lacoste garments always seem to outfit together so effortlessly.

We are excited to have now taken stock of the Lacoste Golf Fall 2019 collection, which offers both technical and more classic looks. Lacoste polos have an elegant look with bicolour pinstripes, bold graphic designs and high quality fabrics.
The mid layers are constructed using high performance fabrics, and the designs include contrast panels, heathered contrast and ottoman finishes.
With the colder months expected, quilted jackets are a golfers staple and Lacoste have this box stylishly ticked with their down filled Quilted Full Zip Jacket.
