Ian Poulter launched a Twitter attack on the golf course at the Volvo Golf Championships in Bahrain, despite the fact it was designed by his former Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie.
The IJP Design golf clothing ambassador finished joint 67th after slumping to level 72 on the first day of the tournament on Wednesday and expressed his anger on the microblogging site.
"Played great today 35 putts, missed one green. Simply the worst greens I have ever seen and I'm not joking. They are embarrassing," he tweeted.
"Apparently the architect wanted to make a statement with the greens. He did that alright – they are &%$£."
However, since then he seems to have a new perspective, having tweeted: "Like I said before its the same course for all of us & i will be giving 100% for sure. I can still win this tournament," yesterday.
Poulter is well-known fan of Twitter and recently tried to lure newly-signed-up Tiger Woods into the banter by including him in several tweets.
