Ian Poulter's bravado is finally starting to wear thin with the golfing public and it is now time for him to step up to the plate and secure the major he is capable of.
The Englishman is in danger of being more well-known for his flamboyant golf clothing and his outspoken tweets than for his golf.
However, he believes he is going into the Open Championship refreshed after a two-week break.
The 35-year-old has been enjoying the best English sports has had to offer during his break, taking in Wimbledon, the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the British grand prix at Silverstone.
Poulter said: "I was doing stuff which was bonkers to be honest. I was in the pits at F1, on the start grid, in the royal box at Wimbledon - all of which is incredible.
"I forgot my golf and I enjoyed the sporting occasion, it's fantastic.
He did manage to put in some time on the Royal St George's course and said he is hoping to enjoy himself during the Open.
Poulter currently sits at number 16 in the world rankings and is hoping to break into the top ten this year.
