Golf insurance is vital for pros and amateurs alike as it not only covers loss or damage, it provides peace of mind when heading overseas to experience top courses in Europe and around the world.
Bob Warters, editor of Golfmagic.com, said that insurance can cover loss, damage and delays leading to missing pre-paid tee-times.
"Most golf insurers will cover you for treatment or hospitalisation in the event of you getting injured on the golf course," he explained.
Golf insurance can also cover players for a hole-in-one, as tradition dictates that the player in question provides a round of drinks for everyone in the club house, which is an expensive burden should it be a busy course.
Mr Warters recently admitted that he has just taken out golf insurance after 40 years of playing the game and 20 years in the golf media.
