Le Golf National course, on the outskirts of Paris, beat competition from courses in Spain, Germany and the Netherlands to secure the 2018 tournament.
It will be the first time France has hosted the biennial tournament which pits Europe and the US' top golfers against each other in a matchplay format over four days.
The event in 2018 will be only the second time the competition has been played on mainland Europe, with the first in 1997 when Seve Ballesteros captained Europe to victory at Valderrama.
There had bee
n calls to award the 2018 event to Spain as a tribute to five-time major winner who recently lost his long-running battle with cancer.
The great man remains the leading points scorer in the event, many of which were achieved with fellow Spaniard Jose Maria Olazabal, who will captain the European team in 2012.
