Footjoy, one of the leading manufacturers of golf shoes, socks and gloves, has announced plans to create a full range of golf clothing in the near future.
The range will include golf shirts, golf trousers, golf sweaters and other items to complement his existing line of outerwear and golf accessories.
Steve Stricker has been testing prototypes and new apparel on the Tour.
Footjoy has made the decision to enter the crowded golf clothing market as it is looking to increase the visibility of its brand by supplying golfers with clothes and other accessories.
"This strategic initiative has been carefully considered for several years and is supported by an extremely sophisticated and comprehensive study of the golf apparel category," said Andy Jones, vice-president, gloves, accessories, and apparel worldwide, for FootJoy.
Ian Poulter recently packed six pairs of Footjoy golf shoes for the Masters tournament and posted a picture of his footwear on microblogging site Twitter.
