Andy Murray has said that the struggles Rory McIlroy cam through following his Masters capitulation has inspired him to win Wimbledon this year.
"I think it's great the way he dealt with everything after he'd obviously got nervous earlier in the year at the Masters," the Scot explained.
Murray explained that it is great to speak with fellow athletes from other sports, particularly successful British ones, as they can compare notes on dealing with the pressure of the expectant home crowd.
"They have been through a lot of the same sort of things that you have. It is good to speak to them," he added.
McIlroy will be visiting SW19 this week with his friend and flamboyant golf clothing designer Ian Poulter.
The Northern Irishman revealed that he would be supporting Andy even if he came up against his friend Rafael Nadal.
"I'd have to root for Andy, I can relate to Andy on how much pressure he is under from everyone [to win his first major]."
