Adidas Golf will bring a new direction for golf apparel this year. The new line is called Fashion Performance and it represents a new and vibrant category for the company as one of the industry leaders. What’s more, it will be available at Function18.com golf clothing in March 2012!
Adidas recently held its fashion show at the Milk Studios in New York, showcasing displays of Adidas shoes and white TaylorMade clubs.
The new stylish white drivers have given TaylorMade a market share of more than 40 percent and 18 tournament wins, according to Mark King, chief executive of TaylorMade-adidas. King said “Adidas deserves credit for changing the standard golf "uniform”, cotton polo shirt and khakis, towards a more technical, athletic look over the last 10 years”.
The Fashion Performance collection will take Adidas golf into a cooler and younger direction. The range features very vibrant and bold colour-blocked designs, alongside youthful, street-inspired shapes and a retro Adidas logo. The clothes also retain many Adidas trademarked performance features, like fast-drying ClimaCool fabrics.
"It's more street styling, but you can play it on the golf course," said Tiss Dashan, the senior director for global design for Adidas Golf. "Technology is what we do. Our testing ground is the Tour."
The new clothes will be worn on Tour by Jason Day.
Not only will Adidas launch Fashion Performance, but they will also introduce a line of colorful golf footwear, adiSTREET. The new shoes are spikeless with full-grain leathers - perfect for strolling into the clubhouse!
